Vukisevic signs for Zagreb

Serbian defender agrees personal terms

Chelsea defender Predrag Vukisevic completed his switch to Dinamo Zagreb yesterday evening after agreeing to a 2 year contract with the club. Vukisevic has 46 international caps with Serbia and Montenegro, together with 3 goals, making him a highly established player on the world stage. The 6ft nothing defender played an integral part in Chelsea's winning campaign this season, appearing 20 times for the London giants.

Manager Jatex Cole was pleased with the transfer, claiming that Vukisevic would bring much-welcomed experienced to Zagreb and help the club in what was going to be another difficult season. Some reporters were not as impressed though, pointing out that the defender was far from sprightly at the age of 29 and there was a risk that he could deprove. However, Cole was circumspect about the deal, saying that there had been a security clause written in and that the club would not stand to lose anything. The deal was reported to be Vukisevic and 3 million pounds in exchange for up-and-coming defensive prospect Ibrahim Abdel Rasheed.

In other news, reports have it that Zagreb is in the chase for highly rated Brann forward Michael Keise. The manager however, refused to confirm the speculation.
